Time seems to be going faster now! After a busy couple weeks of work, traveling down to visit Brianne's brother, Jordan, and his wife, Kylie, in Eugene, Oregon and starting to rearrange our house in preparation for the nursery, we hit 26 weeks! Yay! Things are still going well and now that fall has almost hit, it is starting to feel like our little girl will be here in no time.
I also had the fun opportunity to go with my mom and my nephew Eli to the zoo one day. It was his first trip to the zoo and he loved it. I think he was most intrigued by the giraffes. After that, he may have enjoyed eating Cheerios in his stroller the most. He is such a cute and curious little boy that it will be fun to do this again with them in the future!
We were also quite lucky to see the baby giraffe. The baby giraffe was born in August and it is amazing how tall a baby is (probably 7-8ft tall already). It was neat because the baby was outside... often times you have to go into the barn to catch a glimpse.
In other news, we are starting to put together things for the nursery. I've been so excited about this but wanted to wait till after 24 weeks to actually get things rolling. Everyone asks what "theme" I'm going for... and it is kind of tricky because I'm not really into the cutesy baby sets but would rather have a nursery with soothing colors and a little bit of a vintage feel. We found a great crib on Craigslist... a Land of Nod crib that would sell for $700 new and is made in the USA. It is in amazing shape other than a few little bit marks and is super sturdy... and we got it only for $150. It is totally the style we wanted and is perfect for what we need! It starts to feel real when a crib is in the room.
